Ms. Chantele Olmstead, Principal
Chantele Olmstead has been an educator for more than two decades. She started her career in Los Angeles as a fifth grade teacher, and has taught multiple grade levels, from second grade through middle school math. Prior to entering administration, she served as an instructional math coach at a k-8 school. Ms. Olmstead is passionate about providing high-quality, differentiated instruction to students and outstanding professional development to teachers. Ms. Olmstead has greatly enjoyed becoming part of the Hawthorne Brook community, and she is thrilled to be stepping into the role of principal.
Ms. Olmstead earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and French Studies from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She has presented at numerous conferences, including the annual New England League of Middle Schools conference. Ms. Olmstead has also served on several DESE committees, including the District Math Leaders Committee, the MCAS Assessment Development Committee (Grade 7 Math) and the Teacher Advisory Panel. Ms. Olmstead also completed the administrative track of the National Academy of Advanced Teacher Education.
Ms. Olmstead resides in Westford with her wife and two sons. She enjoys running, spending time outdoors and baking cakes, and dreams of someday appearing on the Great British Baking Show.
Mr. Jason White, Assistant Principal
Mr. White is thrilled to be part of the Hawthorne Brook Middle School Community and the North Middlesex Regional School District. Mr. White is dedicated to creating a safe, caring environment where students can thrive. Prior to becoming our assistant principal, Mr. White was a special education teacher in Billerica. His first year of teaching was in 2003 when he was an eighth grade English teacher.
Mr. White earned his bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University, a master’s degree from Sacred Heart University, and two more master’s degrees from Fitchburg State University. In his free time, he loves to spend time with his family and to watch his favorite hockey team, the Boston Bruins.
