HBMS Announcements

Congratulations to the HBMS Band
Congratulations to the band students for their MICCA Festival performances on Saturday March 28. The Concert Band received a Silver Rating, and the Wind Ensemble received a Gold Rating which will earn them a place in one of the Gold Medal Showcases held in April.
HB Drama Movie Night
On Friday, April 10th HBMS Drama will be hosting a movie night open to all HBMS students! The movie night will take place in the HBMS auditorium to raise money for the production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

 The movie night will run from 5:00 until 8:30PM. Popcorn, and baked goods will be on sale for $1. Ticket forms will be passed out to students in homeroom and will be available to be picked up outside the theatre room.

Tickets will cost $10 and will include:

A showing of Disney’s Into The Woods
Two slices of pizza
A soda or water
And a variety of intermission entertainment put on by the cast and crew of Tom Sawyer

Washington DC Parent Meeting
There will be a final meeting for parents whose children are going to Washington DC on Monday, March 30th at 6:30PM in the HB auditorium. 
HBMS Homework Club
HBMS afterschool homework club is starting up another session. Click here for a permission slip with more details.
HBMS Yearbooks
The HBMS yearbook is now available to order. The cost is $35 until March 13th and $40 after that day. All orders are due by April 24th. Click here for an order form.
HB Art Show
Hawthorne Brook will be hosting their 2nd annual Art Show at the Townsend Library during the month of March. Please stop by and see some remarkable artwork by some of our very talented students.

There will be an opening reception on the evening of March 10th.

HB Spring Track
Believe it or not, it is time for spring sports. Any boy or girl in grades 6-8 who would like to participate in spring track needs to sign up on the NM athletic page. It can be accessed through the Athletics link on the HB webpage. Students should also see Ms. Delaney or Mr. Gaughan with questions and to sign-up.

Tech School Program
The Monty Tech VIP program starts 3/19. Contact Mrs. Dupuis for more information. This is an after school program at Monty Tech.

Before School Open Gym
The Wellness Department is running a before school open gym program. Any student who would like to start the day with some informal gym time and exercise can come to the gym between 7:30 and 7:55 Monday through Thursday.

HB Drama
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer r
ehearsals will run from 2:30-4:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays until the final two weeks of Tech which may include extended rehearsals and the addition of Thursdays. Performances will take place on May 8th and 9th.

Sign Ups for Crew will be posted after the play has been cast. 

Coca-Cola Products
HBMS is collecting Coke Caps and Boxends.  Coke offers us a long list of free items.  We have already turned in 10,338 points this school year for gym supplies including: Frisbees, footballs, soccer balls and more.  Students may leave their caps in the collection box in the cafeteria next to the flip tab collection box.
